CELINA ROMANY-SIACA
|
A Professor of Law, Practicing Attorney, Mediator and Arbitrator with vast experience in employment, labor, administrative, constitutional , personal injury and family relations litigation and international law matters. Her primary practice area is in civil matters (both trial and appellate) in local and federal courts, having successfully litigated complex civil matters involving a broad range of areas, such as civil rights, constitutional law, employment law, wrongful death and commercial disputes. She has also served as a lead negotiator in several high profile disputes, including collective bargaining agreements.
In September 2008, Ms. Romany completed a two-year tenure as President of the Puerto Rico Bar Association. She has taught law at the Inter-American University-Puerto Rico School of Law, City University of New York School of Law, University of Pennsylvania School of Law, University of Puerto Rico School of Law and American University School of Law-Washington D.C. In addition to numerous awards and speaking engagements, as well as membership in various advisory boards, she has been published by such prestigious journals as the Yale Journal of Law and Feminism, Columbia Journal of Gender and Law, Harvard Human Rights Journal and Brooklyn Journal of International Law, among others and is the author of the first Labor Law Casebook in P.R.
Ms. Romany is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. She is also admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, the Federal Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
